Amrita Film Awards announced: Mammootty Best Actor, Arabikatha Best Film, Meera Jasmine Best Actress, Lifetime Achievement Award for Dakshinamoorthy, Posthomous honour for Bharat Gopi.

Amrita Telivision has announced the 4th Annual Amrita Film Awards which is to be presented on March 29th at 6.00pm Ambedkar Stadium , Cochin. The selection which was done through public SMS voting and a special jury panel has announced Awards in 16 categories of cinema. The Amrita Film Awards coincides with the anniversary of Amrita TV, which was set up in April 2005
As in the earlier three award functions Amrita TV will be honouring S.Dakshinamurthy with Lifetime Achievement Award and also presenting a special Post - Humous honour to Bharat Gopi for his contribution to Malayalam Cinema.
The Award will be presented at a three - hour Gala function which will have songs, dances and perfomances by eminent artists like Ramba, Mukta, Swetha , Naresh Iyer etc
