Five men drawn together by their love for news – a farmer, a medical representative, a law student , an HR executive and a future businessman are the finalists whose well-researched stories will vie for the top honours of Best Citizen Journalist -3.
Best Citizen Journalist -3 which had been steering an electrifying course in the largely unchartered waters of Citizen Journalism for the past few weeks, gets ready to dock into its Grand Finale on August 1st at 4.30pm.
Launched in the beginning of May this year, it had been leaving in its wake a trail of solved crimes, exclusive scoops and sensational exposes, uncovered by the dedicated band of 17 Citizen Journalists on board.
The Crusader Round of the Semi finals which reduced the number of contestants to its final 5, saw Citizen Journalist activism at its very best with not just reports being tabled, but solutions being found to the atrocities disclosed in the scandalous cases of crime and corruption.
Loaded with inside stories that will burn the wires during transmission, the 5 finalists –Biju, Sahin, Santosh, Sarun and Vimal will be at their journalistic best in the Grand Finale that will take place before an elite invited audience of Ministers, IPS and IAS officers, bureaucrats etc.
The 3 tiered Final consisting of 3 rounds-Headline Story round, My Best Story and Q& A round will be evaluated by the Jury of K.Govindan Kutty, Senior Journalist and actor, along with Mr Sasikumar, Principal of the Asian College of Journalism and
Mr.M.G. Radhakrishnan , Associate Editor India Today.
When the 3rd edition of Best Citizen Journalist files into its final round of reports in the Grand Finale on the August 1st the magnificent institution of Citizen Journalism in the State would have been notched up another landmark in its history.
