Synopsis
Sakhi means friend. This program reaches out to all the women and homemakers who are doing their best to be good mothers, good parents, and in many cases good employees as they make their way through the ever demanding modern world . The programme is issue based addressing the broad spectrum of today’s current topics such as health care, good parenting skills, stress reduction, infant care, money and time management and tips on maintaining a healthy life style.
Experts and experienced individuals in the subjects are generally the featured guests; however the program is not limited to this category. Often ordinary people who have triumphed in the face of many difficulties can act as a source of inspiration as well. Amrita TV’s Sakhi gives these unsung heroes an opportunity to share the wealth of their experience with the audience. Viewers are invited to call in their particular questions giving the program an open forum atmosphere; the program is also equipped with a special Hotline for urgent questions and concerns.
As the name implies Sakhi is a friendly program created in the spirit of building community and support networks. It is a delightful, informative half hour program that can easily become a part of the householder’s daily schedule.
