This pair stands apart from the rest of the field in that, they are the only brother-sister duo of the competition, with Akarsh a +2 student being the youngest to go to the finals . The couple have a very deep base in classical dancing , having learnt almost every Indian Classical dance form – Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattom, Kuchipodi, Kathkali, etc. When Harsha, now poised to go to Australia for her MBA, started practicing steps at home as a child, it aroused her sibling’s interest and Akarsh too joined in. The transition from Classical to cinematic and western forms such as Salsa, Tango etc demanded by the rounds ‘Let’s Dance’ was not very easy; but they managed by going to the best choreographers in the business and training and practicing hard to ensure themselves a place in the Grand Finale. |
