The lighting of a magnificent lamp by Padmasree Udayabhanu, launched ‘Super Troupe’ auspiciously on its way . The ceremony was attended by the elite Jury Panel consisting of Ouseppachan, Biju Narayanan and Gayathri, the celebrity guest for the first 2 rounds well as Shyamaprasad, President of Programmes and Anil Kumar, GM Programmes .
While Shyamaprasad stressed on the relevance of the show and Ouseppachan pointed out its importance, Gayathri who found the concept of a Gana Mela reality show very novel, expressed her appreciation for showcasing an art form in which the orchestra teams too were given a chance to compete against each other.
The ‘Super Troupe’ stage was a special occasion for Ouseppachan - fresh from the success of winning the National Award for Best Music in Malayalam that had eluded his grasp twice -and for Gayathri who was sharing the judges dias with her mentor, whose composition ‘Enthe Nee Kanna’ had won her the State Award for Best Female Singer in 2003.
As the rounds progressed, the judges were unanimous in their appreciation of the flawless performance of the live orchestra and the ‘pitch perfect’ rendering of the singers. |
