ROUND 1 : Super Hits

This is the inaugural round that sets the tone for the programme, in which the singers & the orchestra tune themselves  into  the  pitch of the competition. Unlike other reality show contestants, the participants of Super Troupe are no strangers to the stage, since they are on the road for the better part of the year. But it may be the first time they are performing before a full-fledged camera crew in a professional studio.

Every troupe has some numbers which are their ‘star performances’, that they have been able to render as flawlessly as the original . In the first round, the teams ‘display’ one of their super hits, which have won them standing ovations from appreciative audiences .

By beginning on a confident note, each team springs off the blocks to get a running start to the competition.

 ROUND 2 :  Other Language Fast Numbers

As they step from the comfort zone of the 1st round - that was fashioned to suit their strengths- into the real competitive arena, the contestants  get a  taste of the  battle ahead. They are required to render rhythmic numbers from other  languages– Tamil, Hindi  etc, whose songs have a faster tempo than that of Malayalam.

The pulsating pace of these songs turns the spotlight on the orchestra, that is normally relegated to the background and pushes it into the limelight, since the beats usually overshadow the voice in fast numbers.
