Padma an employ of a parcel company comes from a family going through financial crisis. Having lost her mother in childhood she lives with his father and sister who are completely relying on her. With all these burden on shoulders her only solace is a man in the company she works to whom she shares all her feelings.

Tragedy befalls Padma turning her life upside down starting with the death of her lover’s only sister which in turn results in her lover’s leaving the company to take care of his niece. To make things worse Padma finds out her sister to have run away with some guy leaving her father all alone. Padma his only hope decides to take care of her father and stay with him for the rest of her life.
 The cruel hands of fate bring another catastrophe to her life in the form of her father’s sudden death.
Thaniye tells the heart rendering tale of Padma who is dragged in to solitude by the cold hands of fate.
