Launched on April 14, 2005, Amrita Television (a unit of Amrita Enterprises Private Limited) is a 24 hour Malayalam Free to Air (FTA) General Entertainment Channel also covering the news and current affairs segment. The channel launched a new genre of television content that embodies dignity, decency, and dependability, despite being in the competitive world of entertainment and news space. Its buzzword "Nanma… Menma" (Goodness…Excellence) highlights fresh heights of goodness and superiority in catering quality entertainment to the public.

Amrita TV is the only channel that introduced revolutionary and path-breaking entertainment packages to create a difference in the television industry through its wide variety of programs.

• Aired in 2006, the first full-fledged Malayalam reality show in music for youth viz Super Star.

• Kick-started in 2007, the first dance reality show series on Malayalam Television - Super Dancer.

• Telecast the first reality show in 2007 for young mothers in South India viz Vanitha Ratnam.

• Aired in 2008, India's first regional talent hunt series in citizen journalism for non-journalists- Best Citizen Journalist.

• Launched in 2010, an innovative social justice program where chronic family legal cases are resolved on the sets where the verdict is mutually and legally binding, ie., Kathayallithu Jeevitham.

• Launched in 2011, India's first reality show for Christian Choir Groups- Deva Geetham.

• In 2012, the first talent hunt show for Malabar folk songs in the Gulf named Kasavu Thattam.

• Launched in 2013, the first talent hunt show on beauty, fitness, fashion, and personality- Super Model.

• Aired a family game show titled Home Minister in association with Friday Film House, the Kerala-based Indian film production company founded by actor Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas.

• Amrita TV introduced actress Annie on the mini screen through the popular cookery show Annies Kitchen that has become the viewers’ favorite across the world.

• Amrita TV introduced the first sitcom in Malayalam, Just Fun - Chumma, with a new storyline and fresh young faces, who were a hit in the entertainment industry.

• Amrita TV has proudly launched the show Lal Salam that brought eminent actor Padma Bhushan Mohanlal on the mini screen for the first time.

• Amrita TV proudly launched a different reality show titled Jananayakan, that evaluated the contribution of the general public who conceive unique ideas for the betterment of Kerala that political leaders could not do.

• On the spiritual front, Amrita TV created another history by introducing a new reality show based on the great epics ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Mahabharatha’ titled Sreshtabharatham that has been running through multiple seasons.

• Premiered on 19th August, 2020 with actress Swasika Vijay as the star anchor, Red Carpet a unique reality show, brought the stories of successful women in various fields of life.

• The first ever standup comedy show in Malayalam, 'Funs Upon A Time' is produced by Amrita TV in association with actor-comedian Ramesh Pisharody’s RP Entertainments.

• Comedy Masters, a superhit comedy reality show in which talented comedians perform humorous acts and satirical skits.

• Parayam Nedam Panam Nedam, a superhit musical chat-game show anchored by the famous singer M G Sreekumar.

• The new face of Parayam Nedam program, ie., Paadaam Nedaam Panam Nedaam brings to the forefront talented singers who were once the shining stars of ‘Ganamela’ stages and music troops in Kerala and are still in the field.

• For the first time in Malayalam television, there comes a ‘real’ reality show to find the best mother-and-daughter combo with the launch of Super Ammayum Makalum in 2023.
